It's officially done.   Thanks Dad!!!   So now it is sitting in my dining room ready for more then six people at my dinner table.    

Just Me

Climbing fences,  loving blue skies,  evening light and alone time away from the little ones. 

Boys and Ponds

We spend quite a bit of time counting to make sure there are 10 fish.   Fishing green gunk out of the pond,  and just throwing what ever bits we can find into the pond so we can fish them back out of the pond.

Bridges and Tunnels

The whole family got out for a walk and a bike ride.   Discovered tunnels and bridges over and under the highway and train tracks.   Saw beauty and graffiti.   Played and smiled.   Complained and got excited.   It was good.

9pm Ice Cream

Me thinks that this summer holiday is getting too long.   I'm just letting them do whatever right now because I am tired of thinking of things to do and not do.    Must get off this wagon as school starts in two weeks.

I love Yellow

I just love the colour yellow.   I also love that these flowers still scream summer is still here.   Relax, enjoy,  go slow,  and breath in all the goodness of warm weather without snow. 

Outdoor Pool Fun

Summer Holidays are starting to get tough.    The kids are fighting with each other more.   I am running out of ideas for fun.     But the outdoor pool never gets old.   So we packed up after lunch and away we went.    The Macdonald Park outdoor pool has great activities for the kids.  So 3 hours went by very fast and then we stopped at Baskin and Robbins for an ice cream.   Bliss!!!

Scream if you want to go faster!!!

Conned a friend or two to come with me to the amusement park that had come into Kamloops for the weekend.   A little spinning and tummies weren't too happy (on the adults!!!)   The children a whole other story.

Popcorn Monsters

They went to the library today and got to make popcorn monsters.    But they are popcorn monsters already!!!!

Before

I don't have the before before photo.    This is a chair I picked up in Australia.   A year ago when my parents were here my dad took it apart so I could strip it.    A year later when they came back to visit I hadn't put I very big dint in stripping it.   So my dad got buy with the planner and sander and voila!!!   Got to love dad's!!!    Now I have to get the varnish busy and you can see the after.    It won't take me another year.    Just a few days.

Canadian Snow Birds

While driving through Kelowna we couldn't understand all the stop and go traffic until we caught a glimpse of the sky and saw the Snow Birds performing.   Ah Ha!!   So Eric found a place on the side of the highway to pull off and watch the show.

 Summed up the Snow Birds are a Canadian Forces Demonstration Team that have been performing as the Snow Birds since 1971 but there have been teams since the 30's.     If you ever get a chance go see they are awesome to watch.  

Water Fun

After all the bugs,  bumps and black feet.    We stopped in Penticton,  BC to get some tourist information on one winery we wanted to visit.   While doing this we discovered the tourist information in Penticton has an amazing wine selection so we just picked up a case there instead of driving to the winery.   We drove to the Lakeshore Drive in Penticton.  After seeing all the water and beach it was   decided right then and there to just jump in and cool off with an order or two of  hot chips and lemonade.      We slowly drove on to Vernon while taking in the breathtaking beauty of the Okanagon Lake.    While in Vernon the Atlantis Water Park called our name.   So we enjoyed watersliding down their 10 different slides.     I think we may have to go back again!!!!!

Snow in August

Yes that is snow on the top of the hills around Apex Mountain.     One nice thing about it there is not too many bugs up at the top of a mountain!!!  

Herd of Turtles August Long Weekend Adventure

Beautiful isn't it!    Don't let it fool you though the mosquito's were awful!!!!    Great bunch of people.   Well organized.   Beautiful spot up at Apex Mountain near Penticton.    We saw lots of interesting things.   Like a porcupine  (didn't get a photo!) ,  cows,  and lots of wildflowers.    It wasn't my best trip.   I hate bugs,   and I was car sick most of the time.   But everyone else seemed to enjoy themselves.   Especially the huge marshmallows.
