Clowning Around Animal

Still a tad bit cold out!!!   So we are clowning around with friend animals today.   Playdates (for the little boys) , and morning tea with mummy adults!!!  

It's cold outside folks!!

Still minus 20 something that feels like minus 30.   Standing around in it isn't what I'm doing today. 

Self Portrait - Minus 22 - Crazy Cold Animal!!!!

It is minus 22 today.  With a wind chill of minus 30.   I should have said nah I can take these photos another day.   I do have a bit before they are due.   But I wanted to get it done and if they aren't what the client wants I can try them again.   (and maybe it will be warmer)    Plus Owen was at his drop in care.   So off I went  though it was @#&%*$  cold out.   It was a brilliant photo taking day.     So ice in hair,  a cold index finger and some red checks not to bad for a minus 22 day.   ( note:  long underwear,   snow pants,   minus 50 sorel boots,  hat, neck warmer,  warm barn coat,  and two pairs of mitts!!!! -  toasty warm)

Mexican Hairless

I was meaning to take Zewat and do some creative animal shots.  Unfortunately his weekend visit fell on a super busy weekend.   Between a sleep over party,  picking up a truck from the repair shop,  and a scheduled photos shot.   Well when his mum came to pick him up I hadn't had a chance to.   Don't fret I'm sure he will visit our house again!

Party Animals

So 8 years old.   Pizza,  Pop, Party,  Play (written, costumed and performed during party)  and a bunch of very pooped girls in the morning ( sleepover a must)   Now just have to find out which homes 6 items of clothing that we found in bed sheets this afternoon belong to.

This morning when I put on my underwear I could hear the fruit-of-the-loom guys laughing at me.

A horse is dangerous at both ends and uncomfortable in the middle.

maybe not today.    I'm having a love hate relationship with dairy cows today.    Hopefully the next attempt will be better.

Horse are predictably unpredictable

Yes horses are predictably unpredictable.   You'd think on a nice sunny day like today they would be out in the sun.   But no they were in the shade and I could not get them to follow me out in the sun.   (granted some carrots or sugar would have worked)   So again a photo without a little sun shine beauty in it.  

Feedlots

Driving past this huge (because this is just a small part of the feedlot)  and I mean huge feedlot.     My jaw dropped.   Wow what a lot of work,   both to manage this and just see if I could get a photo.   I sat down for a long long time so the cattle would get comfy and come near me.   Walking slow and making sure they didn't all start to stampede.    This will be a challenge for the next few months.  

Frustration

The weather has been cloudy and overcast so all my photos are blah.   Now add these crazy fast Stellar Jay's.   This was the clearest shot I could get.  They move at lightening speeds.   So I am frustrated!!!!

Beef is beef, you know.

Seeing lots of beef lately.   They are all close to the ranches now that the winter is here.   No stalking them in the bush anymore. 

One swallow does not make a summer

Though I'm pretty sure this is a sparrow. (correct name would be awesome- let me know)   Just thought the quote was spot on as we are having mild weather and no snow.   Which will probably change in a few weeks.

Some people have cats and go on to lead normal lives

I don't know if this will become me.   Normal....  Ahhh!!!  This is going to test me.   Maybe I'll have to take an animal training coarse.   It would also help if I didn't have a four year old trying to pick up or chase the animals!!! 

Lego Combine

I know I'm suppose to be putting up photos of animals.   But come on LEGO COMBINE!!!  How cool is that and my 10 year old girl still wants it for presents.   I'll be on it tomorrow.

A project for 2012

A project.  An idea has been rolling around in my brain for weeks.   I just haven't had a chance to let it form and plan.  I would like to go deeper into animal photography.   So I am going to plan to try to do a photo a day of an animal.   Bare with me it might be the cat for a bit.   Until the back to school routine is in full swing again and everything is caught up.    But I will try to make my cat shots more artistic!!    (and grandchild photos will be thrown in to make others happy)

"Enough is Enough"

"Enough is Enough" these three words have been going around my brain for the past week.  Every since I read my horoscopes for 2012.   Not that I believe in them but this one struck a cord.   Especially the line:  "you are in a happy position to say enough is enough"   So  I've been pondering work,  locking myself away to finish up some projects from 2011 that are due this week,   deciding some goals for next year,  making marketing strategies,  just basically saying "enough is enough" lets get busy.   How do I want this blog to look like,  a project,   a new header,   things are rolling around in my brain.    "Enough is Enough"   get on it.   What way should our family society identity follow?   "enough is enough just do what our hearts have been telling us to do.  "Enough is Enough"  I need to start doing this I'm turning 40 this year,  I need to do things for my happiness.

And I'm sure Owen is saying Enough is Enough get me off these things!!!!
