Getting in Shape to Own a Horse

Ten Ways To Get In Shape To Own A Horse
  1. Drop a heavy steel object on your foot. Don't pick it up right away. Shout "Get off, stupid! Get off!"
  2. Leap out of a moving vehicle and practice "Relaxing into the fall". Roll lithely into a ball, and spring to your feet!
  3. Learn to grab your checkbook out of your purse/pocket and write out a $200. Check without even looking down.
  4. Jog long distances carrying a halter and holding out a carrot. Go ahead and tell the neighbors what you're doing. They might as well know now.
  5. Affix a pair of reins to a moving freight train and practice pulling it to a halt. And smile as if you are really having fun.
  6. 6. Hone your fibbing skills. "See hon, moving hay bales is fun!" and " I'm glad your lucky performance and multi-million dollar horse won you first place - I'm just thankful that my hard work and actual ability won me second place".
  7. Practice dialing your chiropractors number with both arms paralyzed to the shoulder, and one foot anchoring the lead rope of a frisky horse.
  8. Borrow the US Army slogan; "Be all that you can be'...(add) bitten, thrown, kicked, slimed, trampled."
  9. Lie face down in the mud in your most expensive riding clothes and repeat to yourself: "This is a learning experience, this is a learning experience,..."
  10. Marry Money!

Mummy Bear

Here's the mummy bear that was watching below the cubs playing in the trees above.

Black Bear Cubs

During our weekend adventure away for the long weekend.   We came across a mummy bear and her three cubs.   I only got a photo of the two of them.   I'll do mummy tomorrow.   I even spotted a moose.   But even with the long lens primed to go on the seat he moved to fast for me to get a photo.  Ugh!!!

TLC for Pets

I got the lovely opportunity to go out to  http://tlcpetresort.com/  (TLC for Pets Resort)  in Kamloops.   If you are in need of a place to absolutely pamper your pet don't hesitate to give these guys a call.  Tammy and her husband Dennis along with their staff provide an amazing place for your pet to stay while you are away.   I would like this myself.   My own room,  couches and tv to lie in front of.   Meals brought,   out to exercise and socialize around 2 acres of land.   Yes that would be the life.    Look them up you won't be disappointed.

How is it possible?

How is it possible for a dog to give the same face as my kids.   Are we done here yet.   Do I have to stay still and keep looking at you?

Pig

Howard County Police officers still write their reports by hand, and the data is entered later by a computer tech into their database. One theft report stated that a farmer had lost 2,025 pigs. Thinking that to be an error, the tech called the farmer directly. "Is it true Mr. (Smith) that you lost 2,025 pigs?" she asked. "Yeth." lisped the farmer. Being a Howard County girl herself, the tech entered: "Subject lost 2 sows and 25 pigs."

Hummingbird

I took other photos today.   But when I went back into the shed today after leaving the door open.  I noticed this poor hummingbird stuck in the shed trying to get back out.   He was very puffed so he let me pick him up and carry him outside.   This is what I got before I took pity and got him outside again.

Jay Springs Ranch - Guardian Dog

www.jayspringslamb.ca
A great lamb/sheep ranch in Kamloops.   They are super friendly and have helped me out so much finding places to go get different animals around the area.    If you are in need of some lamb for meals or maybe just a look at Sheep ranch give them a look.    This is one of their many guardian dogs around the property.   I'm pretty sure I heard them call him Roger but......  don't quote me on it.

Western Painted Turtle

The Western Painted Turtle in on the blue list.   Meaning it's vulnerable to habitat loss.   So this great pond on one of the ranch properties is doing it's bit to keep the turtles going in BC.
