Day 327 - Gift From My Mom - Mum

I walked past these flowers in the shop and back tracked.  A beautiful purple mini mums.  My mom had said go get some flowers to get well and treat yourself while healing.  So when I saw these I knew they were perfect.   Plus I get to use them in my photo a day.

Day 317 - Last of the African Daisies

"If I had my life to live over, I would start barefoot earlier in the spring and stay that way later in the fall.  I would go to more dances.  I would ride more merry-go-rounds.  I would pick more daisies."

Not part of my cocktail a week.   Just going through old food magazines and came across this purple cocktail.  So great for my purple theme.  Frozen grapes, raspberries, vodka and cointreau throw in a blender and enjoy.

Day 311 - Lest We Forget

This is an opium poppy,  more purple in colour then the corn poppy or Flanders Poppy of the famous poem by Colonel John McCrae.  I was friends and neighbours with relatives of McCrae, where I grew up in Guelph, Ontario, Canada.

Day 304 - Wear Purple

When I am an old woman I shall wear purple, With a red hat which doesn't go and doesn't suit me, And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves, And satin sandals, and say we've no money for butter.
