My mother in law is here and helping get our gardens back into shape.  Because though they are pretty,  these thistles have to go.....

you  make my first thought that today is hot enough to go into the pool tempting.   It was 35 degrees today.

I love making lists and couldn't pass up the purple stationary to continue making my grocery lists, my xmas list, my to do today lists, and my purple photo ideas list.

Not part of my cocktail a week.   Just going through old food magazines and came across this purple cocktail.  So great for my purple theme.  Frozen grapes, raspberries, vodka and cointreau throw in a blender and enjoy.

This is an opium poppy,  more purple in colour then the corn poppy or Flanders Poppy of the famous poem by Colonel John McCrae.  I was friends and neighbours with relatives of McCrae, where I grew up in Guelph, Ontario, Canada.
