Getting Projects done

We're just getting things done on a Sunday.   Baking cookies,  printing photos,  working on art work,  computer websites,  garage jobs,  knitting,  and cleaning behind ears.  

Stitch and Bitch Night

Last night I went to a very good friends house for a Stitch and Bitch night.   We brought our craft projects that we were working on,  had some wine, and just a good catch up on our weeks events.   It was fun and we all got a lot done.     Another one is in the works I think. 

Sucked in

A few weeks ago we had nice warm weather.    10 degrees.  Spring was in the air the hills lost some of their snow.   It looked like above taken at that time.   But now just a few weeks later it is minus 18 out and the hills don't look so much like spring may be coming.   Ugh!  I think we all got sucked into thinking warm weather was on it's way.

Meetings and yummy lunches

I'm having a very productive week.   So excited, scared and overwhelmed all at the same time. 

Minus 10 and dreaming of plus 30!

Weekend Winter Snow King Festival in Golden BC

 On the way to Golden.     We stopped for lunch in Revelstoke.    Where the snow banks were huge.   They have had so much snow fall this year. 

 More driving.    About 5 hours worth but some very nice scenery. 

 Then stopped in to visit friends Chris and Joyce from Red Lake.    We went to the Masque Costume Ball the first night visiting with them.

 The next day we woke up to gorgeous sun though a little cold.   So we played outside for a bit before bundling up to go downtown Golden and join in on the Winter Snow King Festival. 

 Face Paint  and then the main event. 

All ending with fireworks!!!   Cold Cold Cold.   But lots of things to do and see.

Down Day

Tuesday we had to wait all morning for the gas guy.   And in true form he showed up at the last said time.     But I got all my phone calls returned and things scheduled.   So with my relief and happiness I crawled on the couch with Owen and we watched a movie snuggling.   It is nice to do that sometimes.   Specially nice to hear Owen say "My mommy".

Daddy Love

Every night when Eric gets home from work.   The kids line up and run into Eric so he'll pick them up and give them a big hug.   They each take their turn and then after they have all had their hug it  looks like this.   Eric is worried that this will all end and he'll be like that commerical when the husband comes home and only the dog greets him.   So he soaks this up as much as he can.

Valentine's Day Celebrated Owen style

Owen at his "school" for his under 5 program.   Then after a big party with face painting, crafts,  songs, and lots and lots of sweet food!!!   Icing Heaven for little ones.

Valentine's is an Excuse for a Party

Getting the winter blahs.   So invited some old friends and new friends over for a little party.   It was fun and the kids entertained themselves.   Perfect!

My little crafters

I'm de-cluttering because my mind is so cluttered.   One of my clutter projects (as well as being on my project list)  is my scrapbooking.   I have this huge container of scraps.   Can't throw them out  because I might use them.    Well I have been re thinking how I do scrapbooking.   Because I haven't been in love with it anymore.   I love taking photos.  And I feel that they need to be displayed not just left on the computer for some relative to be given the hard drive when I'm dead and go who is this?,  when is this?,  where is this?   Not much different then being given a box of old photos of relatives from the 1800's that we don't know anything about either.   Only it will be thousands of photos not just a few.
So: 

As much as I love these pages.  I'm going to finish my 2009 album since I still have a book and pages for that.   I will continue to do calendars and my kids year in the review albums but then I'm going to change to this:

A little bit old school but fast and I can still spice up the journal boxes.   So looking at all my scraps I decided to purge, throw out and cut them up into sizes I could use for this new type of scrapbooking.
( I found scraps I'd kept from 10 years ago!!!!   And I thought I'd use them!!!!)

So making all this cutting and snapping noise attracted the little ones to my side.   Where they asked if they could use all my scraps of the scraps to make something.   I said sure and soon I had three little fingers with glue, scissors, punches, and ideas beside me.   This is what they came up with:

Which Dr. Seuss Character do you think this is?

I'm thinking a Sneetch which was a bird in one of Dr. Seuss' books.   But you may have another idea.

This odd shaped tree caught my attention in Hawaii.   I thought of a Dr. Seuss character right away.   Just couldn't put a name to it.   Maybe you can.

Snow and Sickness

Still snow outside and inside two sick girls.   So we are just laying low and hoping for colour to come outside soon and colour to form in the girls cheeks inside.     Hannah was looking a rather interesting shade of green today.    Owen isn't sick but he is doing a lot of snuggling with the girls in their blankets which is oh so cute. (didn't pick up the camera!!!)  Hope your day was as slow paced as mine. 

Calmness

My mind is a whirlwind with all these plans, ideas,  and projects.    I have them all written down in lists.   But I want them done today not the months it is going to take.     It is all coming together.   Which is so exciting but sometimes I just need to look at a photo like this or yesterday's Zen and just breath in the solitude because  my brain doesn't feel like that at all!!!

Zen Hannah

Hannah seems to be at a hard stage right now.     She gets upset very easy so we have been trying to tell her to just take a break and relax if things upset her.    She said she had been trying to do what I do "that Zen thingy with your hands.   But people laugh at me. "   And looking at this photo well maybe they aren't laughing maybe you are just so cute while doing it.   

Lots of Snow

It started snowing very early in the day and snowed all day.   My bunch didn't even have to be pushed.   They got in their snow gear and out the door to play.     Though they snuck in when the shoveling began.    It continued snowing through the night.     Though has warmed up now and slushy out. 

Scrapbooking and a Great Wine Tasting Party

Scrapbooked from 9am to 5pm.   Wish I had a few more days to get it all caught up.    Then home to family with a pizza and out to the neighbours wine tasting night.   It was a very good day.   Only now I want to scrapbook 24/7 to get caught up.   Unfortunately life happens and I can't. 

Really Mom...

Really mom your going to leave me with dad all day while you go scrapbooking?
Yes I am!!!   It is going to be a great day.  Scrapbooking all day,   pizza dinner,  followed by babysitter coming over and Daddy and I have a date night.     Yeah!!!!

Cuddle Time

Very Cold Even with Sun!!!

It has been a little bit of a shock coming back to the land of snow.    The girls are even saying can we live somewhere warm all the time!!!    It has been very sunny which is awesome.   But that usually means it is very cold.    As you can tell by the ice sparkling on these branches.   Today is a little overcast maybe it will be warmer than minus 15 today??

Favourite Toy of Christmas

We got this toy from my brother this Christmas and it is his all time favourite toy.  Even gone for 2 weeks and it was the first thing he picked up when we walked in the door.     BEST present ever!!!!!

What's a trip without some drama!!!

Okay this is the least exciting or award winning  photo ever!!!   But that is the point.    We arrived in Vancouver at midnight after a great Hawaiin Trip.    Got up the next morning and decided to pop into Ikea before heading home.   That is when drama hit.   I hit the button to let the back window down so Eric could put stuff in the back and then the window wouldn't go back up.    So 3 hours, 2 spilled hot chocolates,  and lots of homework finished at the Toyota Dealership;  that window still wouldn't go up.   So they taped it up for us and away we drove at 4pm to head back to Kamloops.
