I've been published!!!!

It does take a bit of a wait until this newspaper is downloaded from the website but it is worth the wait.   Lots of great information for dairy farmers and great stories to read about these BC Dairy Farmers.
I did the photos and wrote an article about our local Dairy here in Kamloops.   Blackwell Dairy Farms on page 11 and 12.
Can't tell you how much greatness networking with the BC Farm Writer's Association has been.    I would have never met up with Karen and Gary Booy the owner's and editors of BC Holstein News.   I am truly thankful for them.
(don't worry mom and dad -  I'll send the real paper to you!!)

Hairy Koos

Now can't you just hear the accent.    A nice Scottish burr saying Hairy Koo!!!    I spotted these two in a field as I was driving by and with a few phone calls was able to track down the owners and ask if I could take some photos.      I'll have to head out another day.   It was so windy yesterday.   I think they said 30km plus.   I watched my camera shake on the tripod!!!
The Highland Cattle breed was developed in Scotland in the 1800's.    I fell in love with them when in Scotland and every once in a while you see them in Canada.    So I am pretty sure I  squealed when I saw them here in Kamloops.    This female is two years old and she has produced another female.

39 and holding........

Yesterday was the hubbies birthday.   We had friends over for dinner.  Eric had requested beef on the bbq for dinner.   So I found this great cook book and made beef tenderloins wrapped in mashed potatoes put on a plank and bbqed.    Let me tell you I could get used to these.  They were awesome!!!!!    I had a great green beens and roasted beets vegetable.   But my picture taking went to pot as soon as the stuff was on the table.   It looked as good as it tasted.     I made this tall tiny cake and we had some "Pink"  bubbles that we had had in Australia.   Was a great evening.
