Pumpkin Hunt and Halloween

We could have been lazy and just go to the grocery store and get a big hug pumpkin. But then we wouldn't be exploring the area or supporting the local farmer. I looked up pumpkin patch on line and found Murray's Corn Farm. They have pick your own strawberries in the spring, corn in the summer and pumpkins in the fall. Similar to Strom's Sweet Corn. So I had images of pumpkin patch photos in my head and the car for the day. Off we went 40km out of town. Unfortunately with the frost and the rain. The pumpkin patch was knee deep in mud and the field pumpkins had suffered some frost damage. Instead we had to pick from the ones around the farm house. Which was just as much fun for the girls. Owen was asleep in the car though!!!! So much for my dreams of pumpkin photos!!!

Home we went and the little pumpkins sat to await their carving debuts. We had to rush to do them as we went to Kelowna to buy a car, (more on that another time), and didn't get back from the 4 hours return road trip until 5pm. Trick or treaters already at the door when we arrived!!!! So mad dash to get all organized, dressed and out the door for lots and lots of candy!!!! Owen couldn't lift the Halloween bucket (pens and treats included) we got for free at Micheal's Craft Store when I went in their to get yarn to knit Eric a scarf.

Hannah was a butterfly, Ciara at Vampire and Owen a giraffe. Happy Halloween all!
It's all good!
